SoundImage takes its point of departure in a classic genre: the landscape painting. A computer continuously constructs an abstract landscape image cycling through a broad range of potential colors. The color values are monitored by the computer and these data are used to put together a sound composition.
The landscape can therefore be read as a visual expression of the current sound composition.
It is not possible to predict exactly how the image will develop and each sequence will therefore be unique. The computer is used to create a variable artistic expression, where a part of the artistic control is left to controlled frames of randomness. Read more about generative art here.
