I was one of the organizers of a digital image workshop for kids at the Danish art museum Louisiana in April 2009
At the workshop we examined the fantastic universes of the artist Max Ernst and the Czech game artist Jakub Dvorsky. Using Photoshop and a digital camera we created our own fantastic universes from found objects from the scenic park surrounding the museum.
The children were generally between 8 and 12 years old. Here's one example from the kids' final images:
